History

The establishment of PSDIH has a long history, which began in 2008 when a Doctor of Law Study Program was opened at Lampung University in collaboration with the Faculty of Law, Diponegoro University with the Undip Credit Gathering Activity Program (KPK). In 2012, the program was discontinued because Unila was considered capable of holding its own doctor of law program. Since 2015, the Faculty of Law Unila together with the Unila Postgraduate Program has proposed the establishment of a Doctor of Law Study Program. Only in 2017 with the issuance of the Decree of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Number: 430/KPT/I/2017, Dated August 3, 2017, PSDIH was officially opened. Given that the Unila Postgraduate student admission system has been completed, new student admissions are carried out in the 2018/2019 academic year.

Based on the Decree of the Rector of the University of Lampung Number: 856/UN26/KP/2018, dated March 21, 2018, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akib, S.H., M.Hum was appointed as the head of PSDIH and Dr. Hieronymus Soerjatisnanta, S.H., M.H. as the secretary. Currently, PSDIH has held 2 academic years with 29 students, and is in the process of accepting the third year batch, namely the 2020/2021 academic year. Collaboration has been carried out with various parties, such as the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia, the Lampung Provincial Office of Law and Human Rights, the Regional Government, PERADI, KAI, and so on.

The establishment and management of PSDIH cannot be separated from the organs and functions carried out in accordance with the arrangements in the statute of the University of Lampung. The organs in question include the Senate, Unila leaders, Internal Control Unit, Advisory Board, Lecturers and Education Personnel. In accordance with their functions, the organs in question are basically ready to support the existence of PSDIH as a new study program. The readiness can be observed from the Vision and Mission of Unila which is then derived into the Vision and Mission of the Faculty of Law and PSDIH and is contained in the strategic plan that was built.
